I just could not believe that Brazil could lose a match. They were infallible. But in the end it was Zidane and Henry who made sure France did the biggest upset by defeating Brazil and making an all European Semi-finals. This must not have happened in years.
But the France deserved the win. After scoring a goal and going 1 up in the match their never lost their advantage. They did not all go and stay huddled in their own half to protect their advantage. Rather they played attacking football and Brazil were so shocked they just could not pull out a goal. I was unable to believe that after 90 minutes brazil could not manage even a single goal.
Moreover the goal by Thiery Henry was another shock. He was left totally unmarked and Zidane spotted him and a beautiful free kick and a great finish made sure France were through to the semi-finals.
